For more information on the new FDIC brochure, "Minding Your Own Business: Banking Tips for Small Companies", click here!  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Notice of Expiration of the FDIC Temporary Unlimited Coverage of Non-Interest Bearing Transaction Accounts By operation of federal law, beginning January 1, 2013, funds deposited in a non-interest bearing transaction account (including an Interest on Lawyers Trust Account) no longer will receive unlimited deposit insurance coverage by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).  Beginning January 1, 2013 all of a depositor's accounts at an insured depository institution, including all non-interest bearing transaction accounts, will be insured by the FDIC up to the standard maximum deposit insurance amount ($250,000), for each deposit insurance ownership category. PHISHING ALERT- FRAUDULENT EMAILS Fraudsters are sending out fraudulent emails appearing to be from Calhounbanks.com.  The body of the message is addressed "Attention Calhounbanks.com Visitor" and goes ahead to state there has been a security breach at "Epsilon", and that the customer's information may have been compromised.  It offers a free credit score in the customer follows a link.  Do not click on the link. Recipients should consider the email an attempt to collect personal or confidential information, or to load malicious software onto a user's computer. The emails are reported to contain a file infected with malware. If opened, the file will likely release malicious software. Instead, they should forward the email to customerservice@calhounbanks.com and then delete the email from their computer.
